About

The ESA REACH Tool was developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) for monitoring regulatory constraints associated with substances declared in space relevant materials and mixtures.

The Tool contains information about substances in materials relevant to European Space Sector. The material composition data is voluntarily collected by members of the Obsolescence Splinter Group (OSG) of the Materials and Process Technology Board (MPTB) under European Space Components Coordination (ESCC).

Access to the ESA REACH Tool:

Currently, access is limited to following user groups:

  • Active members of ESCC/MPTB/OSG community (as key database users/editors) and
  • Remaining entities of the MPTB community and ESA member state space-relevant entities (national space agencies, MidCaps and SMEs) with a valid ESA entity code.
  • Note: for transparent user and user's entity identification and email verification purposes, users should use their formal company's email address

For ESA entity registration and codes please follow this link.

Disclaimers:

  • The Tool undergoes continuous development, therefore features may be added, modified or removed.
  • ESA is not liable for any decisions made based on ESA REACH Tool data. Legal compliance obligations remain solely with the users of chemicals/materials, and the ESA REACH Tool by no means replaces any obligations associated with REACH. Please consider all the information within the ESA REACH Tool as guidance only.
  • The materials data reflects chemical content data from Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) which were valid at the time of upload, and therefore may be outdated. Please always check the current material chemical composition with the material manufacturer, and request their latest SDS.
  • The regulatory data information is supplied by the ECHA public dissemination service and therefore all their limitations apply. Substance regulatory information can also be accessed through the ECHA website.
  • The data within the ESA REACH Tool may not be disseminated further without the permission of ESA.
  • There is no legal right or obligation to access the ESA REACH Tool, and always remains at the discretion of the ESA REACH Officer.

To sign up for the ESA REACH Tool, you must accept the statements above.

Why sign up?

ESA REACH Tool may provide additional information in terms of obsolescence risk analysis related to EU REACH, UK REACH and Swiss chemical regulations and helps to understand regulatory constraints for individual substances.
